The Horizontal Velador
Here are some early photos that show the first modifications of the early (1999) velador series. This one was called the horizontal Velador as it was mounted on a rotating wheel and the axis of rotation was horizontal to the surface of the Earth .
There were two significant studies coming from this setup.
The first was "Eye of the Tiger" and the second was called "presentation".
In the photos it is difficult to see the 10 foot steel pipe mounted on a wheel but it is there. On one end of the pipe is a digital camera and the other end holds the laser with a closepin switch. The wheel was rotated at various angles usually starting at North which was 0 degrees and then 30 degrees clockwise til North was reached again. Pictures taken on each stop so usually there were 13 pictures in a series.
Eye of The Tiger
this was the first pix and after
some thought i believe it shows an interference pattern
this was the second obtained just by turning the pipe on the wheel about 30 degrees Note in the lower right corner a blue dot has appeared. i believe since in any photo taken later this dot was the only one showing it represents the laser beam hitting the CCD of the camera the red stuff was usually always present so i thought it was interference.
pipe turned 60 degrees
pipe rotated 90 degrees from starting position
pipe in 120 degree position
Note the laser impact site on the camera moves in relation to turning the pipe. In "Light Train" the laser light MISSES the upper train when moving.
